Category: Bhrigu Principals

The core principles of Bhrigu Astrology (specifically Bhrigu Nandi Nadi and Bhrigu Samhita) focus on the planetary significations, their directional combinations, and transits, rather than traditional houses or ascendants.
Here are the fundamental principles:
  • Jiwa Karaka (The Life Significator): Jupiter is treated as the primary significator of the native (the self) for males, while Venus represents the native for females. The planetary influences on Jupiter or Venus determine the person’s life path, health, and character.
  • Karma Karaka (The Profession Significator): Saturn is considered the planet of karma and career. Its placement and the planets sitting in houses connected to it dictate a person’s profession, struggles, and success.
  • The Trine Relationship (1-5-9 Rule): Planets situated in the 1st, 5th, and 9th houses from each other are considered to be in the same direction and act as if they are conjunct. They exchange energies and strongly modify each other’s results.
  • The 2-12 and 3-11 Rules: A planet is highly influenced by the planets in its adjacent houses. Planets in the 2nd house act as a progression or support to the planet, while planets in the 12th house act as a modification or past influence. Planets in the 3rd and 11th houses also exchange energy.

  • No Traditional Houses or Dasha System: Unlike Parashari astrology, Bhrigu Nandi Nadi does not heavily rely on Vimshottari Dashas or specific ascendants (Lagna). Instead, predictions are made by reading the natural characteristics (Karakatwas) of the planets and how they interact.
  • Transit-Based Timing: Predictions are timed using the transits of major planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu, and Ketu) over the natal planets. For example, Jupiter transiting over the natal Venus or the 2nd/7th house from it often triggers marriage.
